Huntaway Reserve Pinot Gris 750ml

This powerful Pinot Gris has been crafted from premium grapes from the Matawhero and Manutuke region in Gisborne, sourced by our Huntaway Reserve winemakers. The result is a flavoursome, approachable wine. The blending in of a small proportion of Gewurztraminer was carried out to increase the complexity of the resultant wine, adding spicy notes and an oily texture to the palate without diminishing the varietal character of the Pinot Gris. In the glass, this wine is straw in colour with green tinges. A lifted bouquet of pear and melon with hints of spice is evident. There is a rich, oily-textured palate, layered with pear and spice flavours and an underlying savoury complexity leads to a lingering off-dry finish.
